Perth, June 6 (Indian Abroad Newsdesk)
The Consulate General of India in Perth marked World Environment Day 2025 with a tree plantation drive and yoga session as part of two global initiatives—Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam and One Earth, One Health.
The activities took place on June 5 at the Acting Consul General’s residence and on the Curtin University campus, in collaboration with students and staff. The yoga event served as the fourth curtain raiser leading up to the International Day of Yoga.
The Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, launched by the Government of India, encourages individuals to plant a tree in honour of their mothers, symbolising gratitude and environmental stewardship.
The yoga session highlighted the connection between personal well-being and planetary health, in line with the global One Earth, One Health theme.
The Consulate thanked Curtin University for its support and encouraged broader participation in sustainable practices and wellness initiatives.
