The opening ceremony of the 4th edition of the joint bilateral military exercise AUSTRAHIND between the Indian Army and Australian Army took place on October 13, 2025, at Irwin Barracks, Perth, Australia.
The exercise aims to enhance interoperability and operational readiness, enabling both armies to conduct joint company-level operations in urban and semi-urban environments. Troops from both nations are engaging in training that focuses on coordination, strategy, and tactical efficiency, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening military capabilities.
Coinciding with the recent visit of India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Australia, AUSTRAHIND 2025 underscores the growing defence cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries.
