AI Innovation Summit strengthens Australia–India collaboration in emerging technologies

The AI Innovation Summit Australia–India was held at the Consulate on February 25, 2026, in partnership with Innovate Australia, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to explore opportunities for collaboration in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

Innovate Australia is an initiative aimed at promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration across Australia’s business ecosystem. The programme supports startups, small businesses, researchers, and industry partners in developing innovative solutions and scaling their ideas.

The summit served as a platform to showcase innovation, explore partnerships, and deepen Australia–India engagement in technologies that are shaping economic and social transformation.

Dr Adam Osseiran, Co-Founder and Director of Innovate Australia and Chairman of the Hydrogen Society of Australia, served as the Master of Ceremonies and moderator. He highlighted Australia’s evolving advanced technology landscape and stressed the importance of collaboration across sectors to drive innovation.

The Lord Mayor of the City of Perth, Councillor Bruce Reynolds, delivered a special address, emphasising Perth’s growing role as an innovation and technology hub in the Indo-Pacific region. He also expressed support for stronger engagement between AI enterprises and local innovation clusters.

In her keynote address, the Consul General of India in Perth underscored the importance of deeper bilateral cooperation in artificial intelligence. She referred to the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi and spoke about India’s MANAV vision for AI—Moral, Accountable, National, Accessible, and Valid systems. She also highlighted opportunities for Western Australia and India to combine their strengths in the sector.

Joining the summit virtually, Dr Chandrasekhar Buddha, CEO of Anuvadini AI, shared insights on AI education, skill development, and inclusivity. He introduced Anuvadini as a “Make in India” generative AI platform capable of translation across 29 languages.

Ajay Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO of MonkSpaces.AI, discussed the commercialisation of AI from a startup perspective, emphasising the potential for cross-border scalability and collaboration within innovation ecosystems.

David Lucido, Founder and Managing Director of Sentient Hubs, demonstrated how AI-powered simulation and impact modelling can assist infrastructure planning, climate resilience, and evidence-based decision-making.

Peter Kasprzak, Chairman of Innovate Australia, spoke about the importance of responsible AI development and the need to connect innovation with solutions to real-world challenges.
