The Australia India Business Council (AIBC) has further strengthened Australia–India business links following a high-level meeting between the AIBC National Chair’s team and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai.
The discussion focused on creating new opportunities for Australian companies — including those based in Queensland — to engage with India’s fast-growing sectors such as critical technologies, renewable and clean energy, agritech, education and food processing.
AIBC expressed interest in organising a Maharashtra Expo in Australia, providing a platform for Indian businesses to connect with Australian partners. The delegation also invited the Deputy Chief Minister to attend AIBC’s upcoming 40th Anniversary celebrations.
Mr Fadnavis welcomed the initiatives and indicated Maharashtra’s intention to host a delegation of Australian businesses in early 2026, signalling the state’s interest in strategic collaboration.
The meeting marks another forward step in building stronger economic bridges between Australia and India, with Brisbane and Queensland business communities expected to play an active role.
