The Australian Indian Medical Association (AIMA) hosted its indoor cricket tournament on July 27 at the Ballajura Play Point Centre, creating a memorable and exciting day filled with enthusiasm, dedication, and team spirit.
The event saw vibrant participation from players and teams, while families, friends, and supporters cheered passionately, adding energy to the atmosphere. A highlight of the day was the contribution of AIMA members’ children, who raised more than $500 for charity — a gesture warmly appreciated by the community.
In the ladies’ event, the Super Strikers emerged as winners, while the Power Pathakhas finished as runners-up. Shrivanya stood out as the Best Batswoman and also earned the title of Player of the Finals. Nida was recognised as Best Bowler, while Akshita from AIMA Youth took the Best Fielder award. Saina Wagh received the Best Debutant title, and the Hotshot Hitters claimed both the Butter Fingers Award and the Fashion Divas Award.
In the men’s event, the Super Sixers claimed the winners’ trophy, with PLS finishing as runners-up. Navendu Goyal shone as the Best Batsman, while Vishnu Gopalan took the Best Bowler title. Nikhil Chaudhary was named Best Fielder, and Saumil Desai was awarded Player of the Finals. The Best Debutant award went to Vivaan Wagh, marking an impressive start to his cricket journey.
The tournament not only celebrated sporting talent but also strengthened community bonds, with AIMA acknowledging the collective efforts of participants, organisers, and supporters who made the event a resounding success.
