Anup Soni shares rare throwback from theatre days featuring Irrfan Khan

Mumbai, April 4 (IANS) Actor Anup Soni took a nostalgic trip down memory lane on Saturday as he shared an old throwback picture featuring a very young Irrfan Khan.

The picture is believed to be from their early theatre days, and asked fans, “Can you recognize the faces in this picture?”

The sepia-toned picture appears to be roughly from the early 1990s and captures a large group of theatre artists gathered at, what looks like a wedding celebration of a fellow colleague.

Among the many faces surrounding the bride and groom, a young Irrfan Khan can be spotted.

The actor is seen dressed casually and standing among the group, offering a rare glimpse of the late actor in his early days before he rose to prominence.

Talking about Anup Soni, the actor began his career in theatre before moving to television and films.

He has appeared in many TV shows such as Sea Hawks, Balika Vadhu, CID, and movies including Kharaashein, Raaz and others.

He is widely known for hosting the crime-based reality show Crime Patrol, which brought him immense popularity.

On the personal front, Anup Soni is married to Juhi Babbar and is the son-in-law of veteran actor Raj Babbar.

Talking about Irrfan Khan, the late actor who was also associated with theatre groups during his early years, studied at the National School of Drama and started his journey with stage performances before transitioning to television and films.

Over the years, the actor became one of the most respected actors in Indian and international cinema, and featured in movies such as Maqbool, The Lunchbox, Paan Singh Tomar, Hindi Medium, Life of Pi and others.

Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29, 2020, after battling a neuroendocrine tumour. His son Babil is also following his father’s footsteps and his been choosing meaningful content and projects.
