Ahmedabad, Aug 29 (IANS) Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), Mundra, has been recognised for its pro-environmental efforts with the ‘Legend (Emerging)’ award in the Environmental Sustainability category at the 21st EXCEED Environment Awards 2026.
The award was presented as part of the EXCEED Environment Awards, organised by the Sustainable Development Mission under the Central government’s Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) initiative.
The recognition is aimed at acknowledging organisations that showcase a commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices.
The award comes as APSEZ continues to incorporate sustainability measures into its port operations, including resource management and environmental conservation.
“The recognition reflects its focus on integrating environmental considerations into its operations while pursuing long-term value creation for stakeholders,” the company said.
APSEZ said the award further reinforces its commitment to sustainable port operations and its efforts towards contributing to India’s broader environmental and climate goals.
Sustainability has increasingly formed part of APSEZ’s stated operational strategy. In its latest financial update, the company said 12 of its ports had received Zero Waste to Landfill certification.
It has also reported adopting the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework, making it the first Indian company in the integrated transport utility sector to do so, according to the company.
Mundra is APSEZ’s flagship port and one of its key facilities in Gujarat.
The company’s latest operational disclosures also highlighted investments in infrastructure and measures intended to improve operational efficiency at the port.
The EXCEED recognition places APSEZ Mundra among organisations being acknowledged under the 2026 awards for their environmental sustainability practices.
“The award strengthens its focus on responsible resource use, conservation and sustainable growth across its operations,” officials noted.
