CANBERRA, OCTOBER 23/INDIAN ABROAD NEWSDESK

Australian and Indian Army personnel are undertaking joint military training under Exercise AustraHind 2026, focusing on combat skills, operational coordination and interoperability across challenging jungle, island and coastal environments.

According to a post shared by the High Commission of India in Canberra, troops from both armies are participating in a range of training activities, including combat swimming, static slithering, ambush drills, drone manoeuvring and physical training.

The exercise is designed to improve the tactical capabilities and combat preparedness of personnel from both countries while familiarising them with different operational environments and military techniques.

The joint activities also provide opportunities for the two armies to exchange operational knowledge, improve coordination and develop the ability to work together during complex military operations.

The High Commission said the exercise was strengthening mutual trust and enhancing defence cooperation between Australia and India. It also highlighted the importance of joint training in improving interoperability and operational readiness.

Exercise AustraHind is part of the broader defence engagement between the two countries, reflecting their commitment to expanding military cooperation through joint exercises, professional exchanges and training programmes.
