Australia-India cooperation in education, research and skills was discussed when High Commissioner of India to Australia Nagesh Singh met Professor Adam Shoemaker, Vice-Chancellor and president of Victoria University, Melbourne.
According to the High Commission of India in Canberra, the discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between India and Australia in education, research, skills and institutional partnerships.
The meeting also explored opportunities arising from Victoria University’s growing engagement with India, the High Commission said.
The interaction highlighted the scope for closer institutional links in education and research, along with opportunities to strengthen skills-related cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting comes as universities and educational institutions provide an important avenue for people-to-people and institutional connections between Australia and India.
