Representatives of the Australia India Institute participated in the ninth Indian Ocean Conference in Mauritius, contributing to discussions on regional cooperation and governance in the Indian Ocean Region.
Grace Corcoran and Distinguished Fellow Anil Wadhwa attended the conference, engaging with global leaders and experts on the theme of “Collective Stewardship for Indian Ocean Governance.”
The annual conference brings together policymakers, diplomats, and thought leaders to explore collaborative approaches to regional challenges and to strengthen partnerships across the Indian Ocean Region.
Participants discussed strategies for enhancing cooperation, maritime governance, and sustainable development, with a focus on building a stable and prosperous regional framework.
Organisers, including the India Foundation and the Government of Mauritius, were acknowledged for convening the dialogue at a time of growing geopolitical and economic significance for the region.
