Australia-India IT business links explored in Sydney

SYDNEY, SEPTEMBER 1/INDIAN ABROAD NEWSDESK

The Consulate General of India in Sydney, in collaboration with the Australia India Business Council (AIBC) NSW Chapter, hosted a business interaction session for a visiting Indian IT and IT-enabled services delegation on August 31.

According to the Consulate General of India, the delegation was led by NASSCOM and included representatives from Indian IT and ITES companies. The session also brought together Australian companies and stakeholders from sectors including banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), healthcare, cybersecurity, education, retail and government.

The programme began with a welcome address by Acting Consul General of India in Sydney Nirav Satariya, followed by an industry address from Nidhi Gupta, Director – Global Trade Development, NASSCOM. Ravi Mandalika, President of AIBC NSW, also addressed the gathering.

The visiting delegation was subsequently introduced to participants before engaging in business interactions and networking with Australian companies.

The Consulate said the delegation had met major IT and professional services companies in Sydney and was travelling to Melbourne to attend Intersekt 2026, continuing its engagement with Australia’s technology and business ecosystem.

The programme provided an opportunity for Indian IT and ITES companies to explore business connections with Australian counterparts and identify areas for further commercial engagement between the two countries.
