A new partnership between Ear Science Institute Australia and Apollo Hospitals was announced during the annual Gift of Hearing Gala attended by the Consul General of India in Perth, reflecting growing collaboration between Australia and India in healthcare innovation and medical research.
According to the Consulate General of India in Perth, the collaboration will focus on identifying priority initiatives in areas including tele-genetic counselling, genomic data partnerships and collaborative research programs, subject to governance, ethical and regulatory approvals.
The partnership is expected to strengthen cooperation in advanced healthcare research and expand opportunities for knowledge sharing and innovation between institutions in India and Australia.
Distinguished attendees at the event included Dr Parwinder Kaur MLC, Adjunct Associate Professor Sandra Bellekom, Chief Executive Officer of Ear Science Institute Australia, Sai Praveen Haranath, Senior Consultant Pulmonologist and Critical Care Specialist at Apollo Hospitals, and Jill Dawson OAM.
Observers noted that the initiative demonstrates the increasing importance of India-Australia collaboration in healthcare, genomics and medical technology, while also opening new avenues for research and patient care partnerships.
The Consulate General of India in Perth has continued to support initiatives that strengthen bilateral cooperation across healthcare, science, education and innovation sectors.
