On February 18, 2025, the Consulate General of India in Sydney, in partnership with Newland Global Group, convened a business roundtable titled “Australia-India Critical Minerals Partnership: Addressing Key Challenges, Shaping Practical Solutions.” The session concentrated on India’s objectives and needs in the critical minerals sector, strategies to enhance supply chain resilience, and insights into Australian project financing mechanisms for critical minerals initiatives.
Participants underscored the significance of a robust Australia-India alliance in the critical minerals domain to support global supply chains and technological progress. The dialogue explored avenues for collaboration, investment opportunities, and policy harmonization to meet the escalating demand for critical minerals vital for contemporary technologies.
This roundtable aligns with ongoing efforts to fortify bilateral relations between Australia and India, especially in sectors crucial for economic development and sustainability. Both nations acknowledge the strategic importance of critical minerals and are dedicated to fostering cooperation to secure and develop these essential resources.
