Australian Indian community unites in mourning & condemnation after Pahalgam terror attack

Canberra, May 4 (Indian Abroad Newsdesk)

Members of the Indian diaspora in Australia gathered for a heartfelt prayer meet to remember the 26 lives lost in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The ceremony, held on the 13th day after the April 22 tragedy, was attended by India’s High Commissioner to Australia, Gopal Baglay, and officials from the High Commission. Organised by Indian community groups, the event drew participants from various faiths, cultures, and nationalities. All stood in solidarity with the victims’ families and the people of India, condemning the attack in the strongest terms.

Those in attendance called for justice, urging international accountability for the perpetrators, planners, and enablers of the heinous act. The gathering reflected a spirit of unity and resilience, as people joined hands in grief, remembrance, and a shared commitment to peace.

The prayer meet served not only as a tribute to the victims but also as a strong message against terrorism and a reaffirmation of global solidarity with India.
