Canberra, April 10: The Prime Minister’s Office has confirmed the election will be held on May 21. The date makes for a 41-day campaign, slightly longer than the standard five weeks.
Scott Morrison has scheduled a press conference at Parliament House at 11:20am AEST, where the Prime Minister is expected to announce the date and make his first pitch to the nation.
Anthony Albanese is currently in Sydney at the Royal Easter Show, where he is chatting with voters. The Opposition Leader is expected to fly to key marginal seats, potentially in Tasmania or the NT, to begin his campaign proper later today
