Sydney, February 10 (Indian Abroad Newsdesk)
Devotees and community members recently gathered to celebrate the 24th Patotsav of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Rosehill, commemorating more than two decades since the mandir’s consecration by Pramukh Swami Maharaj in February 2002.
The anniversary highlighted the mandir’s long-standing role as a centre of faith, service, and cultural connection for Sydney’s Hindu community. Originally established with murtis consecrated by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the site later underwent significant redevelopment, with a larger mandir constructed on the same premises and officially opened in May 2013.
Despite the opening of a newer and larger BAPS mandir in Kemps Creek, the Rosehill mandir continues to attract thousands of devotees and remains an important spiritual hub. Over the years, it has also welcomed prominent visitors, including Piyush Goyal during a 2024 visit and Rajnath Singh in 2025, reflecting its significance within the broader Indian diaspora.
This year’s celebrations brought together families, volunteers, and community leaders, with local representatives such as Donna Davis joining devotees to mark the milestone. Organisers described the Patotsav as an occasion to reflect on the mandir’s journey and reaffirm its commitment to spiritual growth, community service, and cultural heritage in Sydney.
