The Consulate, in partnership with the Bihar Jharkhand Sabha of Australia and New Zealand WA, presented the incredible cultural heritage of Bihar and Jharkhand at the City of Gosnells Fusion Food and Culture Festival on November 8-9, 2024. The event drew local dignitaries such as Mayor Terresa Lynes, Councillor Diane Lloyd, and Councillor Balli Singh, who admired the vibrant displays of art, textiles, and live performances.
Visitors enjoyed the showcase of historical landmarks like Bodh Gaya and Ashok Stambh, along with live Madhubani painting by Aayush Sharma and traditional crafts like Chhau masks and Gota work. The cultural highlights included a folk fusion dance performance by 12 young dancers, choreographed by Rakhi Bose, and a tribute to cricket icon M.S. Dhoni.
With over 50,000 attendees and a stunning fireworks finale each day, the festival was a resounding success, bringing the rich culture of Bihar and Jharkhand to the multicultural audience of Western Australia.
