Bihar CM hears grievances of 137 applicants at ‘Sahyog’ programme

Patna, Sep 8 (IANS) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday heard the grievances of 137 applicants from across the state during the state-level Sahyog programme held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Patna and directed officials to ensure their timely resolution.

The Chief Minister said resolving public grievances and ensuring justice to citizens is the government’s responsibility.

He instructed officials to take prompt action on complaints and provide relief to applicants within the stipulated timeframe.

Choudhary said people whose grievances have already been resolved at the district level should not be required to travel to Patna.

Only cases involving complex issues that cannot be resolved at the district level should be brought to the state-level Sahyog Shivir programme.

He said the timely disposal of public grievances has strengthened people’s trust in the government and stressed that maintaining this trust is a collective responsibility.

Grievances related to several departments, including Revenue and Land Reforms, Education, Home, Rural Works, Health, Food and Consumer Protection, and Social Welfare, were presented before the Chief Minister.

Choudhary directed the concerned District Magistrates and departmental officials to resolve the complaints within the prescribed timeframe.

District Magistrates, Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), Superintendents of Police (SPs) and other officials from across the state participated in the programme through video conferencing.

The Chief Minister specifically directed officials to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive old-age pensions and ration cards without delay.

He stressed that no eligible person should be deprived of the benefits of government schemes because of technical issues.

The Chief Minister called upon officials and employees to discharge their responsibilities with complete transparency and sensitivity.

He said the objective is to resolve people’s grievances within 30 days through the Sahyog mechanism.

He warned that any laxity in disposing of applications would not be tolerated. Officials were instructed to re-examine complaints carefully and take fair and prompt decisions.

Applicants whose grievances were resolved during the programme expressed satisfaction with the system and thanked the Chief Minister.

Choudhary said the government’s objective is not merely to dispose of complaints but to ensure that citizens are genuinely satisfied with the solutions provided.
