Commemorating 163rd birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay, and other officers of the Indian High Commission paid floral tributes. An event was organized with the participation of members of the Bengali community and the larger diaspora. The High Commissioner, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the legacy of Gurudev and his message of humanism and internationalism. He also expressed delight over younger generation carrying on Gurudev’s legacy by enthusiastic participation in such events. Honouring the artistic legacy of Gurudev, members of Bengali community presented cultural performances, including Rabindra Sangeet, poem recitals, and dance.
The High Commissioner felicitated the winners and participants of the painting competition, organized on the theme ‘Tagore and His Love for Nature’. Performers of the evening were also presented ‘Certificate of appreciation’.
