New Delhi, Aug 14 (IANS) The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised grand Tiranga Yatras across the Outer Delhi, North East, Karol Bagh, Keshavpuram and Shahdara districts as part of the celebrations surrounding the 80th Independence Day.
Speaking at the North East Delhi Tiranga Yatra on Thursday, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said that the Tiranga is not merely a piece of cloth, but a symbol of the dedication of 1.4 billion Indians towards the nation.
He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is holding its head high across the world.
He said the yatra would inspire the youth towards nation-building.
Tiwari led the yatra from the district office in Yamuna Vihar to Ghonda Chowk.
Delhi BJP General Secretary Mohan Lal Gihara, MLAs Ajay Mahawar and Surya Prakash Khatri, NDMC member Dinesh Pratap Singh, District President U.K. Chaudhary, State BJP leader Gaurav Khari and senior leader Brijesh Rai, among others, participated.
Delhi BJP Co-Incharge and MP Alka Gurjar participated in the grand Tiranga Yatra led by Outer Delhi MP Yogendra Chandolia, which began from Pol Star School in Sector 2, and concluded at Baleshwar Temple.
MLAs Raj Kumar Chauhan, Manoj Shokeen and Gajendra Daral, District President Vikram Gupta, senior leader Vinay Rawat and thousands of party workers participated in the yatra.
The Karol Bagh district Tiranga Yatra was led by BJP National General Secretary Dushyant Gautam and Delhi BJP General Secretary Vishnu Mittal.
Former Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta, District President Virendra Babbar, State office bearer Abhishek Tandon and Municipal Councillor Manish Chadha were among those who participated.
A grand Tiranga Yatra was also organised in Keshavpuram district under the leadership of Delhi BJP General Secretary Yogita Singh. District President Ajay Khattana, MLA Raj Kumar Bhatia, MLA Poonam Bhardwaj, senior Municipal Councillor Mukesh Goyal and Yogesh Verma participated in the yatra.
In Shahdara district, a Tiranga Yatra was taken out from Lovely Public School to Vikas Marg under the leadership of District President Deepak Gaba. MLAs Abhay Verma, Arvinder Singh Lovely, Om Prakash Sharma, Sanjay Goyal and Anil Goyal, among others, participated.
Speaking at the Outer Delhi Tiranga Yatra, Delhi BJP Co-Incharge and MP Alka Gurjar said that she was filled with pride after participating in the grand Tiranga Yatra.
She added that the Tiranga represents the honour, pride and glory of the nation.
“This yatra is a resolve to take Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign to every household.”
She appealed to people to join this wave of patriotism and contribute towards making India a ‘Vishwaguru’.
Chandolia said that the Outer Delhi Tiranga Yatra was a magnificent celebration of patriotism.
He said the Tiranga is a symbol of the sacrifices made by our martyrs.
At a time when the entire country is coming together in the spirit of unity and integrity, the yatra conveys the message of “Nation First”.
He congratulated all party workers and citizens who made the yatra successful and urged everyone to work together to further strengthen the pride of the Tiranga while contributing to the making of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
