Cricket club Brisbane Super Kings (BSK) proudly hosted the inauguration ceremony of Matthew Conwell Sporting Fields Amenities Building which was officially opened by Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and Cr Angela Owen – Councillor for Calamvale Ward on the 16th July at Heathwood Park. The event was an opportunity for the local community to come together and celebrate the occasion.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner, Cr Angela Owen – Councillor for Calamvale Ward, Milton Dick MP, Queensland Cricket Delegates – Sam Curtis, John Butterworth, and Nathan Spencer, Heritage Bank – Belinda Killey, Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) Australia – Krishnan Menon, Brisbane Indian Times – Umesh Chandra , Mathew Conwell’s Family, Rotary Club of Forest Lake, FinTax Partner – Anjaneya Reddy, Jeremy Crighton (former MSW Cricket Manager – QLD Cricket), Bala Rajan Century 21 Performance, and other stakeholders joined the inauguration ceremony.
The ceremony saw the presence of hundreds of delighted and enthralled spectators attending the Grand event in the memories of Late Matt Conwell, who was one of the avid supporters of BSK and played a vital role in promoting junior and girls cricket initiatives in the region.
The celebration is also – first and foremost – a majestic show, through which each community exhibits its culture, history, and achievements. This facility includes separate changing rooms for girls and boys, showers, a storage room, a parents’ room, extended toilets and much more.
This club was created to make a difference, among the culturally and linguistically diverse participants in the community in the eyes of the public, and in history.
