The Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) has announced that the Festival of Lights – Diwali 2025 will be celebrated on October 24, 2025, at King George Square, Brisbane, from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The event, one of Queensland’s most anticipated multicultural celebrations, will be free and open to the public, bringing together families, friends, and community members for a vibrant day of festivities.
The celebration will feature an exciting lineup of cultural performances, traditional Indian dances, live music, food stalls, and a dazzling fireworks display to mark the spirit of Diwali — the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Visitors can look forward to enjoying authentic Indian sweets and snacks, colourful stage shows, and a festive atmosphere that reflects India’s rich cultural heritage.
FICQ announced that Springfield City Group has joined as the Platinum Sponsor for Diwali 2025. The organisation has been a long-standing partner and supporter of FICQ’s community initiatives. Its dedication to building a vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive city aligns closely with the festival’s values of unity, positivity, and renewal.
In addition, LEAPMOTOR has come on board as the Signature Sponsor for this year’s celebration. A highlight of the event will be the exclusive unveiling of LeapMotor’s brand-new model, which will be launched by the Guest of Honour during the festival.
FICQ President and organisers expressed excitement about hosting the event at King George Square, one of Brisbane’s most iconic and accessible venues, ensuring that the celebration reaches the heart of the city and welcomes people from all backgrounds.
