Community-led initiative strengthens Australia-India ties through language and culture

The Acting High Commissioner of India (Acting HCI) attended the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Canberra Hindi School, highlighting the institution’s role in promoting language and cultural connections within the community.
According to information shared by the High Commission of India in Canberra, the school, a community-led initiative, has played a significant role in strengthening Australia-India ties through the teaching of Hindi and the promotion of cultural heritage.
The celebrations were attended by several prominent dignitaries, including Minister of Finance Senator Katy Gallagher, Federal Member of Parliament David Smith, the Ambassador of Nepal, and ACT Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs Chiaka Barry. Members of the Indian diaspora and other community representatives were also present on the occasion.
The event underscored the importance of language and cultural education in fostering deeper connections between communities and preserving heritage across generations.
