The Consul General of India (CGI) in Perth, Kajari Biswas attended the 2026 academic year opening ceremony of the School of Malayalam Language Inc – Perth Community, highlighting the role of community-led education in preserving linguistic and cultural traditions.
Addressing students, teachers, and community members at the event, Biswas emphasised the importance of language education in maintaining cultural identity among younger generations. She congratulated the school on several milestones, including the launch of its first Year 9 class as well as the introduction of free kindergarten and pre-primary programmes.
The Consul General also commended the establishment of a new library featuring around 400 books, describing it as a significant step towards nurturing learning and cultural awareness within the community. She expressed appreciation for the initiative and noted that the Consulate looks forward to extending support to the school’s future activities and development.
