The Australia India Business Council (AIBC) and Consul General of India, Dr. Janakiraman Sarvesvaran, recently co-hosted a significant outreach initiative in Newcastle. Collaborating with local industry partners such as HunterNet Co-operative, Business Hunter, and KPMG Australia, the event aimed to bolster bilateral trade and investment between India and the Newcastle-Hunter region.
The AIBC leadership, including Irfan Malik, engaged with regional industry leaders across sectors like Clean Energy, Advanced Manufacturing, and Agri & Food. Discussions focused on leveraging opportunities created by recent trade agreements and exploring initiatives such as business landing programs and concierge services at the CGI Sydney business lounge.
The delegation met with local SMEs and large businesses showing strong interest in Indian market collaborations. Looking ahead, AIBC and CGI Sydney are set to work closely with Newcastle-Hunter businesses and institutions, including the University of Newcastle, to enhance trade and investment relations between Australia and India.
