Consul General attends Australia’s Franchise Industry Awards

BRISBANE, June 19 / INDIAN ABROAD NEWSDESK

India’s Consul General in Brisbane, Neetu Bhagotia, attended the Franchise Industry Awards 2026, joining business leaders, franchisors and industry representatives at Australia’s flagship awards programme recognising excellence in the franchising sector. According to the Franchise Council of Australia (FCA), the annual awards celebrate outstanding achievements and innovation across the country’s franchise industry.

The Franchise Council of Australia said the awards honour franchisors, franchisees, suppliers, service providers and individuals who have made significant contributions to strengthening Australia’s franchising sector. The programme also showcases best practices, leadership and innovation across a wide range of industries.

According to the Consulate General of India in Brisbane, the event provided an opportunity to engage with Australian business leaders and industry stakeholders while gaining insights into emerging trends, investment opportunities and developments within Australia’s franchise ecosystem. The participation also reflected the Consulate’s continuing efforts to strengthen commercial engagement between India and Australia.

The Australian franchising sector plays a significant role in the country’s economy, supporting thousands of businesses and generating employment across retail, hospitality, education, health and professional services. According to the Franchise Council of Australia, the sector continues to evolve through innovation, digital transformation and changing consumer preferences.

The Consulate General of India in Brisbane said participation in business and industry events forms part of its broader engagement with Australian institutions and organisations to promote trade, investment and stronger economic partnerships. The Consulate noted that expanding business-to-business links remains an important pillar of the growing India-Australia relationship.
