India’s Consul General in Brisbane, Neetu Bhagotia, met Molina Asthana, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) representative for Australia and New Zealand, to discuss expanding cooperation between India and the region across a range of sectors, according to the Consulate General of India in Brisbane.
The Consulate General said the discussions focused on strengthening bilateral engagement and identifying new opportunities for collaboration in areas including sports, business and institutional partnerships. Both sides also explored ways to deepen cooperation in sectors of mutual interest between India, Australia and New Zealand.
According to the Consulate General, the meeting highlighted the importance of building stronger partnerships between government, industry and community organisations to support the growing India-Australia relationship. The discussions also emphasised the role of organisations such as FICCI in promoting trade, investment and professional exchanges.
FICCI, one of India’s leading industry bodies, works with governments, businesses and institutions to encourage international commercial cooperation and facilitate business partnerships. According to the organisation, it has continued to expand engagement with Australia and New Zealand through initiatives aimed at strengthening economic and sectoral ties.
The meeting forms part of continuing efforts to broaden India-Australia cooperation beyond traditional trade, with increasing emphasis on business, innovation, education, sports and people-to-people links. According to the Consulate General of India in Brisbane, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering stronger partnerships and collaboration in areas of shared interest.
