The Consul General took part in a tree-planting ceremony at the Perth Hindu Temple as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, promoting environmental preservation through a meaningful cultural lens. Accompanied by temple priests, committee members, and Consulate officials, the CG helped plant trees around the temple grounds, furthering the initiative’s mission of honoring mothers while contributing to a greener environment.
The ceremony extended beyond the temple premises, with trees also being planted at the official residential premises, underscoring the initiative’s widespread impact. ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,’ which has gained support for its blend of environmental and sentimental values, encourages communities to plant trees in tribute to mothers.
This event symbolized the growing synergy between Indian traditions and sustainable practices in Australia, highlighting a shared responsibility to nurture and protect the planet.
