Consul General Amarjeet Singh Takhi recently visited “The Stitching Stories” exhibition at the Fremantle Fibonacci Centre. Featuring intricate textile art by the Porgai Artisans Association, the exhibition, a part of the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial 2024, highlighted the deep cultural ties between Australia and India. Takhi engaged with artisans Thaikulam, Vaideshwari, and Dr. Lalitha Regi from the Lambadi community of Dharmapuri district in Tamil Nadu, during the visit.
The exhibition received support from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in Australia and the Indian Consulate.
