It’s Time – A powerful stage play inspired by true events

IT’S TIME is a powerful, critically acclaimed stage production inspired by real events, written and directed by Chamkaur Gill. This haunting and deeply moving performance explores the lasting psychological impact of war, the burden of unresolved trauma, and the difficult journey toward healing and redemption.
Set during a psychiatric evaluation, the story follows Tom, an Australian Vietnam War veteran living with severe PTSD. Unable to articulate his pain, Tom appears silent, guarded, and emotionally fractured. Yet beneath this silence, his inner world erupts on stage. His trauma is given physical form through the presence of a soldier who embodies his memories, guilt, and unresolved past.
Through dreamlike sequences and intense physical theatre, Tom is forced to confront the weight of his experiences. The narrative builds toward a profoundly emotional reconciliation with a Vietnamese mother, as Tom returns the personal belongings of her fallen son, a Viet Cong fighter. This moment, inspired by Australia’s Operation Wandering Souls Project, highlights the shared humanity that exists on both sides of war.
Raw, intimate, and emotionally charged, IT’S TIME confronts the long-term scars of conflict while offering a message of empathy, understanding, and hope. Some scenes have been modified for dramatic effect.
Originally staged as a charity performance supporting Bond University–RSL student financial aid, this production continues to resonate deeply with audiences.
