FICQ Diwali 2025 brings lights, joy and togetherness to Queensland’s Indian community

The Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) continued to share highlights of its grand Diwali 2025 celebrations at King George Square, showcasing a full day of cultural performances, festive lights and community togetherness.

FICQ has organised annual Diwali festivities in Brisbane for many years, growing from modest beginnings into one of the city’s largest Indian cultural events. The festival at King George Square is supported by the Brisbane City Council and Queensland government programs and regularly attracts community leaders, diplomats and thousands of visitors.

The 2025 celebration built on this tradition with wide participation from local cultural groups, volunteers and official guests, reinforcing FICQ’s role as the peak body for Indian organisations across Queensland. The federation’s Diwali program — including evening light displays, stage performances and community stalls — continues to reflect the vibrant diversity and unity of the state’s Indian diaspora.

FICQ thanked everyone who joined the event and invited attendees to relive the occasion through shared photos.
