BRISBANE, AUGUST 7/INDIAN ABROAD NEWSDESK

The Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) has discussed opportunities to strengthen multicultural engagement and community participation during a meeting with Queensland Assistant Minister for Multicultural Affairs and International Student Attraction Hermann Vorster MP.

FICQ’s executive committee met Vorster to explore ways of working with the Queensland Government on initiatives supporting volunteering, multicultural engagement and positive outcomes for the state’s diverse communities.

The discussions focused on opportunities for closer collaboration between FICQ and the Queensland Government, particularly in strengthening community participation and supporting multicultural initiatives.

Vorster also formally launched FICQ’s Multicultural Unity Dinner poster during the meeting. The event is part of FICQ’s efforts to bring people from different cultural backgrounds together and promote community connections.

FICQ thanked Vorster for his support and encouragement and said the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and explore ways to work with the Queensland government for the benefit of multicultural communities.
