The Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) recently hosted the India–Australia Day celebration in Brisbane, bringing together community members, leaders and guests to mark the strong friendship and shared values between the two nations.
The event reflected the spirit of unity in diversity, with participation from a wide cross-section of the Indian community as well as friends of India. Cultural performances showcasing creativity and heritage added colour to the celebrations, underlining the role of arts and culture in strengthening people-to-people connections.
Distinguished guests attended the programme, lending their support to the community-led initiative. FICQ acknowledged the contribution of its sponsors for their generous support, which helped make the event possible, as well as the efforts of performers who highlighted the richness of Indian culture through their presentations.
Special appreciation was extended to volunteers whose behind-the-scenes efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the celebrations. Representatives of FICQ’s member organisations were also present, reaffirming their continued collaboration and commitment to strengthening the Indian community in Queensland.
The India–Australia Day celebration served as a meaningful platform to reinforce bilateral bonds at the community level, celebrating multicultural harmony and the enduring friendship between India and Australia.
