Filmmaker Shraddha Pasi on ‘Thukra Ke Mera Pyaar 2’: Wanted to take the story beyond romance

Mumbai, June 8 (IANS) Filmmaker Shraddha Pasi has spoken about the second season of Thukra Ke Mera Pyaar starring Dhaval Thakur and Sanchita Basu; and said that she wanted to “explore the emotional consequences of love, betrayal, ambition, and power.”

The upcoming season of Thukra Ke Mera Pyaar moves beyond romance and heartbreak, as the second edition delves into a world of revenge, power struggles, politics, and emotional conflict as the lives of Kuldeep and Shanvika take dramatic new turns.

Shraddha said in a statement: ”The love and appreciation that audiences showered on Thukra Ke Mera Pyaar was truly overwhelming. With Season 2, we wanted to take the story beyond romance and explore the emotional consequences of love, betrayal, ambition, and power.”

“The new season is bigger, more intense, and packed with unexpected twists. As a storyteller, my goal has always been to create characters and emotions that stay with viewers long after the credits roll, and I hope this new chapter resonates just as deeply with audiences,” said the filmmaker.

Premiering on JioHotstar on June 19, the show will have Dhaval Thakur returning as Kuldeep Kumar, who steps into the shoes of a man torn between guilt and obsession, a man who once made a mistake that changed everything and now finds himself drawn back into a dangerous web of politics, power, and unfinished emotions.

Actress Sanchita Basu reprises her role as Shanvika Chauhan emerges stronger and far more formidable. Navigating the ruthless corridors of power, she refuses to play by the rules even if it means rewriting the meaning of relationships along the way.

Thukra Ke Mera Pyaar first premiered in 2024. The series followed two young lovers from different backgrounds and societal standards, whose love story is marred by family feuds rooted in caste and class differences.
