Ujjain (MP), June 27 (IANS) Ujjain Falcons may have narrowly missed out on a place in the semifinals of the Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup 2026, but the franchise believes the season has laid a strong foundation for future success both on and off the field.
The Ujjain Falcons concluded their campaign with back-to-back victories and several standout individual performances, showcasing the potential of a young and promising squad.
Throughout the tournament, the team demonstrated resilience, character, and the ability to compete against some of the strongest sides in the league.
Reflecting on the season and the broader impact of the league, Ujjain Falcons owner Vinayak Kalani highlighted the importance of MPL in strengthening cricket’s reach across the state.
“The Madhya Pradesh League has emerged as a good platform that connects fans from every corner of the state. For franchises like ours, it helps build stronger engagement with audiences and creates opportunities to establish our presence in regions where we see significant potential for growth in the future,” said Kalani.
Speaking about the league’s evolution, he added, “The focus now should be on taking the league to the next level. Discussions are centred around enhancing visibility, attracting greater sponsorship interest, and creating a larger ecosystem that benefits players, franchises, partners, and fans alike. The potential is enormous, and we are excited about the journey ahead.”
Kalani also praised the performances of the Ujjain Falcons squad and expressed confidence in the team’s future.
“Our players showed tremendous commitment and passion throughout the tournament. While the result may not have gone entirely our way, the team delivered several memorable performances and gained valuable experience. These are the building blocks of a successful franchise.”
Looking ahead to the next season, the Ujjain Falcons owner reiterated the franchise’s ambition to return stronger.
“This season has given us plenty of positives to build upon. We will continue investing in talent development, strengthening our squad, and creating a competitive environment that allows players to thrive. The 2026 campaign witnessed several standout moments for the Falcons, including all-rounder Madhav Tiwari’s exceptional performances with both bat and ball and Aryan Pandey’s memorable hat-trick against Bundelkhand Bulls.
