Consul General of India in Sydney Dr S. Janakiraman paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at his statue in Jubilee Park, Parramatta, on October 2 to mark Gandhi Jayanti.
According to the Consulate General of India in Sydney, elected councillors from Parramatta Council and members of the Indian community attended the commemoration and joined in paying homage to the Father of the Nation.
The observance marked the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, whose legacy continues to be remembered by Indian communities in Australia.
