Gujarat: Vadodara tops regional allocations as govt disburses Rs 1,432 crore to entrepreneurs

Vadodara, June 25 (IANS) In a significant prelude to the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit for Central Gujarat, the state government has disbursed financial assistance of Rs 1,432.41 crore to 12,908 industrialists in Vadodara, marking the highest allocation among the regions where similar summits have been held.

The assistance was distributed by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi at a meeting in Vadodara on Thursday, during which he also underlined the state’s focus on strengthening industrial growth through targeted policy support and timely financial facilitation.

“The new industrial policy introduced under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has increased Gujarat’s attractiveness for industries from across India and abroad, contributing to fresh investments and expansion of industrial activity in the state,” he said.

According to official figures shared during the programme, the assistance distributed in Vadodara surpasses that of earlier regional summits, with Mehsana receiving Rs 905 crore, Rajkot receiving Rs 956 crore, and Surat receiving Rs 1,344 crore.

Officials said the higher allocation for Vadodara reflects the region’s expanding industrial base. The financial support was extended across multiple schemes.

Under the MSME category, 9,171 beneficiaries received Rs 402.58 crore, while the textile sector saw 3,490 beneficiaries receiving Rs 471.62 crore.

Large industries accounted for Rs 523.15 crore distributed among 213 beneficiaries, and other schemes covered 34 beneficiaries with Rs 35.06 crore.

Addressing representatives of industrial associations and stakeholders, the Deputy Chief Minister noted that Gujarat’s industrial community has consistently demonstrated innovation and adaptability, contributing significantly to exports and economic expansion.

“The state government continues to pursue industry-friendly policies while working to resolve issues related to industrial estates and enterprises in a structured manner,” he said.

He also appealed to industrialists to participate actively in the forthcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit, stating that previous editions had already been held in Mehsana, Rajkot and Surat, and that the Vadodara edition would further strengthen engagement between industry and government.

Managing Director of INDEX-B, Keyur Sampat, presented an overview of the summit’s framework during the meeting.
