The High Commission of India in Canberra hosted a special reception celebrating women’s achievements in sport, honouring the Indian Women’s Cricket Team during their visit to Australia for an ongoing cricket series.
The event brought together members of the diplomatic corps, senior representatives from the Australian Government, officials from sporting organisations, media personnel and members of the Indian diaspora, reflecting the strong interest in women’s cricket and growing sporting ties between the two countries.
Chief of the Army Staff of India, General Upendra Dwivedi, who is currently on a bilateral visit to Australia, attended the reception and interacted with the players. He extended his best wishes to the team for their upcoming matches, acknowledging their dedication and contribution to the growth of women’s sport.
