The High Commission of India in Canberra celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with pride and solemnity, marking the occasion with a ceremony that reflected India’s democratic ideals and constitutional spirit.
On the occasion, the High Commissioner, Gopal Baglay, unfurled the Tiranga and read the President of India’s Address to the Nation, reaffirming the enduring values of democracy, unity and the Constitution that guide the Republic of India.
The celebrations were further enriched by patriotic cultural performances that showcased India’s vibrant heritage and collective pride. A rendition of Vande Mataram formed a key highlight of the programme, evoking a deep sense of sentiments among those present.
Adding a contemporary cultural dimension to the event, the High Commissioner also launched an instrumental music video by Roots of Rhythm titled “Ekla Chalo Re”. The evocative composition, known for its stirring message of courage and conviction, resonated strongly with the audience.
The Republic Day celebrations concluded on an uplifting note, reinforcing the strong connection of the Indian community in Australia with their homeland and the shared commitment to India’s democratic and cultural values.
