The festival of Holi was celebrated at the New South Wales parliament in Sydney, bringing together political leaders, officials and community members in a vibrant display of cultural unity and friendship.
Organised by the NSW Parliamentary Friends of India in association with the Consulate General of India in Sydney, the event marked the third consecutive Holi celebration at the parliament since its inception in 2024.
Consul General Dr S. Janakiraman attended the celebrations alongside co-chairs of the NSW Parliamentary Friends of India, MP Warren Kirby and MP Gurmesh Singh. The gathering also saw participation from members of parliament, community leaders and representatives from diverse backgrounds.
The event highlighted the spirit of Holi—symbolising joy, harmony and togetherness—while serving as a platform to strengthen cultural connections between India and Australia.
Organisers expressed appreciation to the NSW Government and Indian community organisations for their continued support in promoting Indian festivals and heritage. The celebration underscored the growing cultural engagement and deepening ties between the two countries.
