The Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) has discussed the progress and future vision of its proposed House of India with Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding, exploring opportunities to strengthen community engagement and collaboration in the region.
The meeting focused on the development of the House of India project and its potential role in creating a stronger platform for the Indian and wider multicultural communities in Ipswich.
Mayor Harding highlighted community and business opportunities available in Ipswich and encouraged FICQ to consider hosting more events in the region. Discussions also covered possible collaboration with existing council programs and community initiatives.
FICQ said the meeting provided an opportunity to explore ways of expanding its community activities and building stronger partnerships in Ipswich.
The organisation expressed appreciation to Mayor Harding for her support for multicultural communities and said it looked forward to working with the Ipswich community to create more opportunities for cultural engagement and collaboration.
