High Commissioner of India to Australia, Gopal Baglay, delivered the keynote address at the Australia–India Strategic Symposium 2025 in Melbourne, organised by Wired Global Media and Advisory.
Speaking on the Strategic Flagship Panel titled “Securing the Indo-Pacific in the Indian Ocean Century: Conundrums of the Region, Strategic Frictions, Shared Futures”, Baglay highlighted India’s vision for the Indo-Pacific. He stressed the importance of strengthening regional security, fostering diplomatic trust, and building collective resilience to meet shared challenges.
He emphasised that in the emerging “Indian Ocean Century,” the foundation of India–Australia relations lies in strategic trust, shared democratic values, and sustained dialogue.
Baglay also commended Wired Global Media and Advisory for creating a meaningful platform for public diplomacy, noting that its evolution from inception during the pandemic to hosting a premier strategic event showcases the impact of a consistent, values-driven vision.
