Consul General of India in Melbourne, Dr. Sushil Kumar, recently visited La Trobe University, where he met with Vice-Chancellor Professor Theo Farrell and the university’s senior leadership team to explore opportunities for expanding cooperation with India.
The discussions centred around strengthening collaboration in higher education, research, innovation, and student exchange programs. Both sides expressed keen interest in building long-term partnerships that would benefit students and institutions in both countries.
During the visit, Dr. Kumar also toured the university’s digital innovation lab and engaged with several Indian students on campus, taking the opportunity to hear about their academic experiences and aspirations.
The visit reflects India’s growing educational diplomacy and the importance of Australia as a key partner in advancing India’s global education goals.
