Consul General Dr. Sushil Kumar officially inaugurated the India Pavilion at the Global Sourcing Expo, taking place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from November 19-21, 2024. During the event, Dr. Kumar also joined R. Gandhi, Minister for Handloom & Textiles, for the inauguration of the Tamil Nadu Pavilion. The exhibition served as a platform to highlight the rich diversity of India’s textile industry and foster greater business linkages between India and Australia.
On the sidelines of the expo, a business networking event was held, aiming to strengthen trade and investment ties within the textile sector. The event also focused on promoting Australian participation in Bharat Tex 2025, India’s largest textile expo, scheduled to take place in New Delhi from February 14-17, 2025.
