The Consul General of India in Perth Kajari Biswas recently participated in a productive luncheon meeting with an Aus Med Tech delegation during its visit to The University of Western Australia (UWA), highlighting growing collaboration between India and Western Australia in healthcare innovation and technology.
The meeting was hosted by Nashid Chowdhury, Director of Global Growth and Advocacy at UWA, and brought together representatives from the Karnataka Government as well as medtech companies based in Telangana and Karnataka.
According to the Consulate General of India in Perth, discussions focused on expanding cooperation in healthcare, medical technology, research and innovation, while also exploring opportunities for stronger institutional and industry partnerships between India and Western Australia.
Participants exchanged views on the growing role of technology and research collaboration in strengthening healthcare systems and promoting innovation-driven economic engagement.
Community and industry observers noted that the interaction reflected the increasing importance of India-Australia partnerships in emerging sectors such as medical technology, biotechnology and advanced healthcare solutions.
The Consulate General of India in Perth has continued to engage with universities, businesses and research institutions across Western Australia to deepen bilateral cooperation in education, innovation and strategic sectors.
