The Indian Consulate in Perth hosted the second edition of its celebration honoring the contributions of the Indian diaspora in Western Australia. Chief Guest Stephen Dawson MLC, WA Minister for Innovation and Digital, commended the community’s impact in fields such as STEM, technology, and public policy, noting their valuable influence across industries in the state.
Dr. Jags MLA highlighted the integral role the Indian community plays in Western Australia’s economic and social development. Vikas Rambal, Founding Chairman and Managing Director of Perdaman Group, shared how Perdaman’s Pilbara Urea plant has relied on Indian expertise, talent, and resources.
Aligned with the Ministry of External Affairs’ Promotion of Cultural Ties with Diaspora initiative, the event recognized Indian Australians excelling in areas like academics, space research, business, and mining. Ritika Menon emceed the ceremony, with Dr. Parwinder Kaur leading the award presentations. The Consul General expressed deep appreciation for the Indian community’s local contributions and its role in fostering stronger India-Australia ties.
