India’s Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, met with veterans of the Indian Army at the Consulate General of India in Sydney during his official visit to Australia, in an interaction marked by respect, camaraderie and shared pride.
During the gathering, General Dwivedi acknowledged the distinguished service and enduring contributions of the veterans to the nation. He emphasised that the Indian Army remains firmly committed to the welfare and well-being of its former servicemen and women, including those residing overseas.
The Army Chief also highlighted the importance of maintaining strong and meaningful ties with the global veteran community, noting that the spirit of service continues beyond active duty. The interaction provided an opportunity for veterans to reconnect with the leadership of the Indian Army and reflect on their experiences in uniform.
