Indian community celebrates Chhath Puja with traditional fervour

Melbourne, November 8 (Indian Abroad Newsdesk)
In a vibrant celebration of faith and tradition, about 1,400 members of Melbourne’s Indian community came together for Chhath Puja, organized by the Bihar Jharkhand Sabha of Melbourne, recently. Consul General Dr. Sushil Kumar joined the festivities, which honoured the Sun God through traditional rituals and prayers.
The event showcased the richness of Indian cultural heritage, with music, offerings, and a strong sense of community unity. Dr. Kumar expressed pride in seeing such a spirited display of India’s traditions abroad, emphasizing the role of these gatherings in preserving cultural ties.
This Chhath Puja celebration served as a spiritual and social gathering, deepening connections within Melbourne’s Indian diaspora and celebrating the heritage of India in Australia.
