Sydney, June 5 (Indian Abroad Newsdesk)
The Consulate General of India in Sydney, in collaboration with the Greater Cumberland Chamber of Commerce, hosted a business session titled “The New India – Tapping the Potential” on May 30 at the Consulate premises.
The session brought together representatives from Australian companies interested in exploring trade and investment opportunities in India. Discussions focused on the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA), highlighting its benefits for businesses and the evolving trade landscape between the two countries.
Key government initiatives aimed at promoting investment in sectors such as manufacturing, renewable energy, infrastructure, and digital economy were presented during the event.
The business session aimed to strengthen bilateral economic ties by providing Australian businesses with insights into India’s growing market, policy reforms, and ease of doing business. Participants also had opportunities for networking and engagement with officials and trade experts.
The event marked another step in enhancing Australia-India economic collaboration under the framework of ECTA, which came into force in late 2022.
