The Consulate General of India in Sydney continues to strengthen commercial engagement between India and Australia through its Business Lounge facility, a dedicated platform designed to support exporters, importers and business stakeholders from both countries.
Launched in 2024 at the Consulate premises, the Business Lounge provides a professional space for companies to hold meetings with potential partners and explore new trade opportunities. The initiative also offers access to relevant Indian and Australian business and trade databases, enabling participants to gather market insights and establish meaningful connections.
Officials said the facility allows visiting businesses to interact directly with commercial representatives and trade officers, helping them better understand regulatory processes and emerging opportunities. Companies can also display product samples at the venue, with detailed information about suppliers and vendors available to prospective partners.
Since its inception, several businesses have used the platform to showcase and promote their products, reflecting growing interest in strengthening bilateral trade ties. Organisers noted that the Business Lounge has become particularly beneficial for exporters and importers seeking to expand their networks and leverage new business engagements in both markets.
The Consulate described the initiative as part of its broader effort to enhance economic collaboration and provide practical support to the India–Australia business community through accessible and industry-focused outreach programmes.
